MLB — The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball suspended Cleveland Guardians minor league LHP Jaime Arias, currently on the roster of Akron (EL), for 80 games after testing positive for a performance enhancing substance in violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Minor League drug Prevention and Treatment program.

American League

BALTIMORE ORIOLES — Recalled LHP Nick Vespi from Norfolk (IL). Optioned LHP Bruce Zimmerman to Norfolk.

BOSTON RED SOX — Agreed to terms with RHP Brahian Rijo on a minor league contract. Reinstated OF Adam Duvall from the 60-day IL. Selected the contract of LHP Joe Jacques from Worcester (IL). Transferred LHP Chris Sale from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL. Optioned INF Enmanuel Valdez to Worcester. Designated LHP Matt Dermody for assignment.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX — Optioned LHP Tanner Banks to Charlotte (IL).

DETROIT TIGERS — Sent OF Matt Vierling to Toledo (IL) on a rehab assignment. Transferred RHP Spencer Turnbull from the 15-day IL to the 60-day IL.
